Ronald® & fun

General Appearance Guidelines:

  • Ronald® does not do anything that would generally be considered dangerous.
  • Ronald® does not do something for one that he would not do for all. (i.e. Birthday parties, unless a Birthday Party is a prize, or a special event that has been arranged).
  • Ronald® should have a minimum of 150 children scheduled to attend each booked event.

For Schools:

  • Ronald® is allowed to perform one show at each school per year.
  • Have a representative at the school who knows what’s going on with the event, etc. and is equipped to handle any situations that may arise.

For Stores:

  • For more promotional ideas, please ask for suggestions upon booking Ronald®.

General Show Guidelines:

  • Shows are geared to the 4th grade and under. However, all grade levels are welcome (Please indicate the grade levels when booking the show).
  • If your school is scheduling two performance showings, we suggest mixing ages (for example: 1st, 3rd and 5th grades for show one; K, 2nd and 4th grades for show two).
  • Ronald’s® staff arrives one hour prior to show time to set up in the gym, or other designated area.
  • We ask that the school provide parking for the Ronald® Van as close to the performance area as possible.
  • The show requires a minimum of 150 audience members (children & teachers) to be approved in advance.
  • Shows start promptly, so the children should be seated on time.

Parade Guidelines:

  • Ronald can walk in parades if appropriate, either along side his Ronald Van or with a group of people. However, we usually have him ride on a float or in a wagon.

Parade Logistics:

  • Please check to find out Ronald’s® position in the parade and try to get Ronald® in as close to the front, in the parade route, as is possible.
  • Find out the parade starting time and parade line-up time. Usually parade line-up time is 30-90 minutes before the parade starts.
  • Find out if there is a number, letter or pass Ronald® will need to designate his position in the parade and allow him to line-up in the parade.
  • Be sure all paperwork for the parade is turned in on time, and please provide sufficient time for Ronald® to fill out any necessary paperwork as well.

During the Parade:

  • If possible assign 2 or more people, wearing matching McDonald’s® shirts or uniforms to walk on both sides of the Ronald McDonald® van distributing cookies, candy, or other McDonald’s® items during the parade.
  • If the parade route is especially long or on a very hot day, it might be appropriate to fill a cooler with some water and bring paper cups for the McDonald’s® helpers.
