Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) of Metro St. Louis, St. John's Mercy Children's Hospital, McDonald's®, and McDonald’s Owner/Operators are proud to announce the Grand Opening of the third Ronald McDonald House in Metro St. Louis and the 300th House in the world.
The House, which officially opened September 29, 2010, provides a "home-away-from-home" for 20 families each night whose children are being treated at St. Louis area hospitals. With an average length of stay of ten days, more than 700 families will be helped each year.
Last year, Mike Klak, the St. Louis/Metro East McDonald's Co-op President, announced that the Co-op owner/operators would continue to have a strong presence with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Metro St. Louis. In fact, each McDonald's Restaurant in the St. Louis and Metro East area is proudly donating proceeds from Happy Meal sales to support their donation of $1 million to the 300th House’s Capital Campaign.
